In just a few days, or at the latest at the beginning of September, Kraków-Balice Airport will lift the liquids limit in hand luggage for passengers departing from Kraków Airport, as confirmed by the airport's CEO in an interview with Radio Kraków.
Are you going to Krakow soon? We have great news for you! At the end of July this year, the European Commission approved the lifting of liquids restrictions in hand luggage at airports in Europe that have modern 3D scanners with the appropriate certificates. In simple terms, this means that passengers can pass through security checks with up to a 2-litre bottle in their hand luggage, rather than the previous maximum capacity of 100 ml. Not all airports in Europe have modern scanners and can lift the liquid limit, but Krakow is set to join this group any day now.
Łukasz Strutyński, president of Krakow Airport, confirmed in an interview with Radio Krakow that Krakow Airport will lift the liquid limits in hand luggage at the beginning of September. The change will definitely come into effect in September, but in case of problems, the lifting of the liquid limit may be delayed until later in September. In an interview with Fly4free.pl, the authorities of the Kraków airport confirm that the airport is technically prepared for the changes, and the only thing left to do is to establish the appropriate procedures.
