AirAsia X, one of the world's best low-cost airlines, is returning to Europe after a 13-year break. The Malaysian airline will launch a direct service from Kuala Lumpur to Istanbul's Sabiha Gokcen Airport.
AirAsia X, the airline recognised as the best low-cost airline in the world in the prestigious Skytrax poll, is returning to Europe (not exactly Europe, as the Istanbul airport in question is located in Asia). From 14 November 2025, AirAsia X will launch a route from Kuala Lumpur to Sabiha Gokcen Airport in Istanbul. The connection from the Malaysian capital to Istanbul's second largest airport (located on the Asian side of the city) will be operated four times a week: on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The flights will be operated by Airbus A330-300 aircraft. Tickets are already available on the AirAsia X website and from travel agents, with prices starting at £300 for a return trip. Now we can only hope that AirAsia will expand to other airports in Europe.
