A shocking situation occurred at El Prat Airport in Barcelona. The parents of a 10-year-old boy decided to leave without him after it turned out that the child could not board the plane due to an invalid passport and lack of a visa. The boy was left alone in the terminal.
The family was planning a holiday flight to their home country. However, during check-in, it turned out that their 10-year-old son's passport had expired and, in addition, the child did not have the required visa. The airport authorities did not allow the boy to board the plane.
Instead of cancelling their trip or looking for a solution, the parents made a controversial decision – they left their son in the terminal and boarded the plane themselves. As they later explained, they contacted a relative who was supposed to pick up the child from the airport.
The boy was noticed by airport staff as an unaccompanied minor. The authorities immediately notified the police, who took the child into their care and began the process of establishing his identity and the whereabouts of his parents.
According to the boy, his parents had managed to board the plane and fly to their country. The child remained at the airport, waiting for a relative to arrive. During this time, airport staff and the police ensured his complete safety.
