The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) is officially scheduled to open on 3 July 2025.
According to ahram.org.eg, the date of the official opening of the world's most anticipated museum has been announced. The official opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza is scheduled for 3 July this year. The announcement was made by the museum's general manager Ahmed Ghoneim on an Egyptian TV channel. The grand opening of the GEM, or Grand Egyptian Museum, is to take place in the presence of Egyptian authorities and international delegations.
The official opening will follow two trial openings: in November 2023 and October 2024. After the ceremony, the Grand Egyptian Museum will become the largest museum in the world dedicated to a single civilisation. The GEM will be twice the size of the Louvre.
