According to information from the Rynek Kolejowy portal, PKP Intercity will return this summer season with a train to Rijeka, Croatia. Among the new features will be the option to get off in the Slovenian city of Koper and travel on a single ticket to Trieste, Italy.
The PKP Intercity holiday connection from Poland to Croatia will also return this summer season. Trains from Warsaw, via Krakow, Katowice, Vienna and Ljubljana to Rijeka, will run up to six times a week, instead of four rotations as last year. We do not yet know the exact date of the restoration of the rail connection, but we can already expect a repeat of the popularity of this means of transport. Especially since two new destinations await passengers: Slovenia and Italy. How does it work exactly? Some of the carriages of the Adriatic Express train will be detached in Ljubljana and will head towards the Slovenian coast to the city of Koper. Tourists will also have the option of changing from the train to a bus in Ljubljana to the Italian city of Trieste, and the entire journey will be covered by a single ticket.
