Emirates will celebrate Oktoberfest with their passengers
Bavarian cuisine and German entertainment accents will be featured on Emirates flights to Germany in late September and early October.
From September 21 to October 6, Emirates airline passengers will be able to feel the unique atmosphere of the German Oktoberfest. There will be traditional Bavarian cuisine and elements of German entertainment on board.
Laugenbrezeln, or a Bavarian pretzel with a glass of good beer - doesn't that sound wonderful? There's a reason Oktoberfest is one of the most popular folk festivals in the world. This year's edition of Oktoberfest will be held not only in Munich, but also on board Emirates airlines. The Dubai-based carrier will invite its passengers to travel to the world of German fun from September 21 to October 6.
A special catering offer featuring traditional Bavarian cuisine and German elements in in-flight entertainment will be offered for 16 days by Emirates on flights to and from: Munich, Düsseldorf, Hamburg and Frankfurt am Main. Thematic attractions and meals will also be located in the airline's lounges at the aforementioned German airports.
Economy class passengers aboard Emirates planes will be able to enjoy dishes such as bell pepper chicken in sauce with fried potatoes and sauerkraut, potato salad with cherry tomatoes and parsley, roast chicken served with bell pepper cream, broccoli and potatoes, and honey-almond cake.
First class and business class will raise the level of meals served. For example, the menu for flights from Germany to Dubai is as follows: Roasted pumpkin soup with roasted pumpkin seeds, and a charcuterie and cheese plate consisting of slices of smoked turkey, beef salami, obatzda, Emmental cheese, cream cheese, hard-boiled egg, radishes and cornichons. The main course will consist of braised veal shank served with gravy, mashed potatoes with celery, roasted root vegetables and red cabbage, followed by a delicious dessert of apple strudel served with crème anglaise and berries. Economy class customers will enjoy German potato salad with cherry tomatoes and parsley, followed by roasted chicken with cream of paprika, broccoli and potatoes.
What will the carrier's in-flight entertainment specially prepared for Oktoberfest look like? Passengers will find up to 40 German films, more than 350 Hollywood movies dubbed in German, and a collection of classic Bud Spencer and Terence Hill films available in German, Italian and English - classic spaghetti westerns beloved in Germany such as Banana Joe, Die Miami Cops, Zwei außer Rand und Band. Music lovers can get in the mood for Oktoberfest with 34 playlists and albums of German music.
