Emirates to partially lift drone ban
As early as 25 November, the United Arab Emirates will begin implementing a plan to partially lift the drone ban that was introduced in 2022. The decision includes the simultaneous launch of a new unified drone management platform.
The ban, which was introduced two years ago, was a response to numerous cases of drone abuse that threatened public safety and violated aviation regulations. However, the authorities have decided to gradually ease the restrictions, betting on the controlled development of drone technology and the streamlining of operational procedures.
A platform to enable drone use at Emirates
The first step in this plan is the launch of a dedicated platform to simplify drone registration and management processes. Initially, it will only be available to companies and government entities, enabling them to run their operations more efficiently. This will enable companies in different industries to use the technology more efficiently.
Subsequent phases of the project are expected to expand the range of services available, including the introduction of operations for amateurs and other commercial applications. Details of these phases will be announced at a later date, allowing the new regulations to be phased in and the market to adapt to the changes.
