Dubai will launch urban air transport - construction has begun on the city's first air taxi terminal. The new facility will be built near Dubai International Airport.
The construction project calls for four air taxi terminals in the UAE, each of which will play a key role in the launch of the innovative transport system. Such terminals aim to connect the most important parts of the city with major transport hubs, facilitating travel for tourists and residents alike.
In Dubai, the first facility will be built near Dubai International Airport, meaning a convenient connection to the region's main air hub. The news was confirmed by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, in a statement published on X: ‘We have started the construction of Dubai's first air taxi helipad near Dubai International Airport.
The air taxis will be extremely green and modern. Equipped with six rotors and four batteries, they will achieve a range of up to 161 kilometres and a top speed of 321 km/h, guaranteeing fast and emission-free transport within the city. The use of battery-powered technology makes Dubai a pioneer of environmentally friendly urban air transport.
