Chopin Airport will be expanded!
Warsaw's Chopin Airport is set for expansion to increase its capacity to as many as 28-30 million passengers a year by 2030. Details of the project and its costs will be presented later this year.
The decision to expand Poland's largest airport was announced by Polskie Porty Lotnicze (PPL), which, as the investor, will cover all costs associated with the project. The investment is a response to the dynamic increase in passenger numbers in recent years and the need to adapt the infrastructure to meet the growing demand.
Expansion of Warsaw's Chopin Airport
The planned expansion will cover both the passenger terminal and key elements of the airport infrastructure. As a result, Chopin Airport will be able to handle more flights and passengers in more comfortable conditions.
Currently, Chopin Airport handles around 18 million passengers a year, which means that it is approaching its capacity limit. The expansion project aims not only to increase the number of travellers served, but also to raise the standard of service and improve operational efficiency.
Details of the scope of work, implementation schedule and costs will be announced in the coming months. PPL authorities stress that the aim of the investment is not only to provide more capacity, but also to support the development of the Polish aviation and economic market.
