Exactly 1,145,257 passengers were handled by the airport in Jasionka, near Rzeszów, in 2024. This was the best year in the history of the Subcarpathian port - 12 per cent better than last year. Aircraft operated to 31 destinations (to 16 countries), and the result of charters was beaten by as much as 33 per cent.
- Records are there to be broken. We are not resting on our laurels and, for the second year in a row, we are among the ‘millionaires’, i.e. airports serving more than one million passengers a year. We will strive to improve our result in the coming years. That is why we are working intensively not only on the development of a network of connections, but also on further investments making the waiting time at our airport easier and more pleasant, as well as improving the safety of passengers and aircraft handling - says Adam Hamryszczak, President of the Management Board of the Rzeszów-Jasionka Family Ulma Airport.
Among the carriers, Ryanair carried the highest number of passengers (almost 339 thousand), operating as many as 9 destinations. On the other hand, the largest increase (155 per cent) was recorded by Lufthansa, which doubled the number of flights to Munich since April and took over a large proportion of transatlantic connections. On the other hand, in charters (16 destinations to eight countries), the number of passengers increased by 33 per cent to 302,000.
Jasionka airport, together with carriers and tour operators, enriched its offer with four new destinations - Alicante and Majorca in Spain, Riga in Latvia (at the same time it was Air Baltic's debut) and Izmir in Turkey. The most popular destinations were Warsaw, London and Munich (on regular flights) and Antalya, Sharm El Sheikh and Heraklion (on charters).
- I would like to thank the authorities of the airport, which is our window on the world, for consistently developing the offer of connections, tailored to the needs and possibilities of the inhabitants of the Podkarpacie region. On the other hand, we are seeing increased traffic in the other direction, which is pleasing for all the leisure organisers in our region. Such cooperation is essential for us to develop together,’ adds Władysław Ortyl, Marshal of the Podkarpackie Region.
In 2025, the offer of the Podkarpackie airport is to be even better (17 destinations are already sold in charters), and among the investments, the modernisation of the runway at the eastern threshold and the construction of the second part of the parallel taxiway come to the fore, which, however, will not affect the functioning of the airport.
