Internet on board a plane once seemed something expensive and unattainable. Now, thanks to the latest technologies, it can become a standard, accessible to everyone.
“Ultra-fast connectivity for an experience like that on the ground, ” is how the French national airline is advertising the Internet network to be rolled out on its planes starting in 2025. Air France wants to provide free Wi-Fi for every passenger, on all of the carrier's available routes. The beginning of next year will also mark the start of the rollout of a Starlinks-based system, which will eventually provide everyone with a stable and high-speed Internet connection on board the French airline.
Air France has not given exact dates for the full introduction of free internet on its flights. What we do know is that passengers will be able to connect to Wi-Fi from laptops, tablets or phones, and even use the connection on several devices at once. This convenience is sure to be sensational news for all travelers, especially business travelers and remote workers, who will be able to spend time on the plane while flying as if they were at work.
