On 26 March 2025, an important chapter in the history of LOT Polish Airlines' long-haul connections came to an end.
On 26 March 2025 at 1:52 pm, a Boeing B787-8 flying from Incheon in South Korea landed at Ferenc Liszt Airport in Budapest – the last flight on the Budapest-Seoul route.
The connection between the Hungarian capital and Seoul was launched in September 2019. For 67 months, LOT had been operating this route, connecting Central Europe with East Asia. The flights were operated using modern dreamliners, which ensured comfort on the route of over 8,000 kilometres.
The last flight on the route was trouble-free and ended with a punctual landing in Budapest. No special ceremony was organised on this occasion, but the event was of symbolic importance for both LOT and the passengers who had used this route over the past few years.
