Dubai has once again confirmed its position as a world leader in aviation. According to the latest report published on Monday by Airports Council International (ACI) World, Dubai International Airport (DXB) retained its title as the world's busiest airport in terms of international passenger traffic in 2024.
The year 2024 was exceptional for the global aviation industry – the total number of passengers worldwide reached nearly 9.5 billion, an increase of 9 per cent compared to 2023. This is a clear sign of a rebound after the pandemic-related declines and an increasing demand for international travel.
Dubai airport handled a whopping 92.3 million passengers in 2024, an increase of 6.1% over the previous year. These figures not only strengthen DXB's position at the top of the global ranking, but also show the growing role of Dubai as a strategic hub between Europe, Asia and Africa.
Dubai International Airport, the home base for airlines such as Emirates and flydubai, is constantly investing in infrastructure and passenger service technologies. Thanks to its excellent geographical location and consistent development strategy, DXB remains the undisputed leader among global airports.
