Changes to the process of applying for an e-visa to Vietnam

In November, a few important things changed in the process of applying for an e-visa to Vietnam. Going on holiday to Vietnam? Read the most important information before getting your visa.

E-visa to Vietnam

On 11 November 2024, the Vietnamese government officially introduced some important changes to the e-visa process for tourists before travelling to Vietnam. What are the key differences and innovations?

You can only officially make an e-visa to Vietnam on these two government websites:

All other sites are not official sites and may charge themselves a commission for making an e-visa. What else has changed? There are a few more questions and mandatory fields to be filled in on the visa form: address, telephone number, on-site address (preferably the address of the first night's accommodation), on-site contact number (if you do not have one, you can use the hotel's contact number) and an emergency telephone number (for example for relatives).

The whole process of getting an e-visa to Vietnam is simple and straightforward, but can take some time and give you some stress. A 90-day visa costs: US$25 for a single-entry visa and US$50 for a multi-entry visa.
