Dubai is associated with luxury and high prices? Not always. You can buy many products here much cheaper than in Poland - from gold, through electronics, to designer clothes and perfumes. Check out what is worth hunting down when shopping in Dubai and where to look for the best deals.
Prices in Dubai compared to Poland can often be surprising. Although Dubai is associated with luxury, in many shopping categories, it’s actually where you can find real bargains. Here’s a guide to what’s really worth buying in Dubai if you’re planning a holiday or a short stay in the Emirates.
Contrary to stereotypes, not everything in Dubai is expensive. Thanks to a unique tax system, high commercial competition, and numerous sales and shopping festivals, many products can be purchased here for less than in Poland. Additionally, many stores operate under Dubai’s VAT-free rule, which automatically lowers final consumer prices.
If you’re planning to buy a new smartphone, laptop, or smartwatch, Dubai could be a good destination.
Is electronics shopping in Dubai cheaper? — Yes, especially during major sales events like the Dubai Shopping Festival or Gitex Shopper. Price differences compared to Poland can reach up to 10–20%.
However, keep a few things in mind:
You’ll find a wide selection of electronics in places like Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, and specialty stores such as Sharaf DG.

Shopping in Dubai is also a great opportunity to refresh your wardrobe and beauty kit at better prices.
Are branded clothes cheaper in Dubai? — Absolutely, especially if you head to Dubai Outlet Mall or The Outlet Village. Discounts on well-known brands often reach 30–70% compared to regular prices in Poland. Additionally, Dubai frequently hosts large-scale promotions and seasonal sales.
Perfumes and Cosmetics
Are perfumes cheaper in Dubai than in Poland? — Yes, especially local brands and exclusive Arabic fragrances, which are often significantly cheaper than in Poland.
Are cosmetics cheaper in Dubai? — Many luxury brands (particularly from Asia and the Middle East) offer better prices here. With larger purchases, you can also take advantage of Dubai duty-free deals.
Dubai has long been known as the world capital of gold.
Shopping at the Dubai Gold Souk lets you buy 18K and 24K gold at more favorable prices than in Poland. The rule here is simple: the higher the purity, the lower the retail markup. Additionally, the lack of standard VAT makes jewelry prices more attractive than those on European jewelry markets.
Is fuel cheaper in Dubai? — Definitely. The average price of gasoline is around 2.80 PLN per liter, which, compared to Polish stations (6–7 PLN), is a substantial saving.
Basic grocery shopping — especially local products like dates, spices, or tropical fruits — is also often cheaper than in Poland.
