Saudi Arabia wants more air routes to Poland

Saudi Arabia says it wants more than just flights to Warsaw. The Arabian Peninsula's largest country is targeting connections to Krakow, Gdansk, Wroclaw and Poznan.

New paint job for Saudi airline planes

“Arabia needs flights not only to Warsaw, but also to Krakow, or Gdansk, Wroclaw and Poznan,” - Majid Khan, director general of the Saudi Air Connectivity Program, said in a very interesting interview with Aviation Market. Many interesting things can be deduced from the interview, key to the potential launch of new routes from Poland to Saudi Arabia.

Will there be more flights from Saudi Arabia to Poland?

What interesting things could we learn from the above interview?

  • The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia sees major Polish cities such as Krakow, Poznan and Wroclaw as destinations that fit the latest strategy of inbound and outbound tourists. The launch of more routes from Poland to KSA, whether by Arab carriers or by Poland's LOT, would help increase tourism exchanges between the countries.

  • Saudi Arabia wants to increase the international importance of Riyadh Airport, which is one of the most aviation-excluded capitals of all major countries in the world.

  • Saudi Arabia does not want to bet primarily on low-cost airlines, but on classic carriers with a long-term development strategy.
