From January 1, 2026, the annual pass entitling holders to enter all national parks in the United States will increase in price from $80 to $250, and admission to each of the 11 most important national parks in the US will cost as much as $100.

The US Department of the Interior has announced a number of changes to the costs and entry systems for national parks in the US. Most of the changes, such as increasing the number of free holidays with free admission and improving the online ticket reservation system, look good, but from a tourist's perspective, the huge price increases for travelers from abroad cannot be overlooked. The America the Beautiful pass, which grants access to all national parks in the United States (for 1 car, max. 4 people) throughout the year, will increase in price from $80 to $250 for tourists from outside the US. It will still be the cheapest way to enjoy American nature, but the change will be felt deeply in your pocket. What's more, access to the 11 most important national parks in the US will be subject to an additional fee of $100 per person for each park (!) for tourists from outside the United States. Here is the list of places covered by the new fee: Acadia National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Everglades National Park, Glacier National Park, Grand Canyon National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks, Yellowstone National Park, Yosemite National Parks, Zion National Park. Important: America the Beautiful pass holders will be exempt from the $100 fee.
