Two new toll gates on Sheikh Zayed Road have been launched in Dubai. The points, operated by the Salik system, are expected to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion in the city's busiest areas.
The new locations are the ‘Business Bay Gate’ and the ‘Al Safa South Gate’. The gates were launched in November and are located on one of Dubai's main arteries, Sheikh Zayed Road, which is a key route connecting different districts of the city.
With the new gates, the total number of toll booths operated by the Salik system in Dubai has increased to 10. The expansion of the system aims to optimise traffic flow in key locations. The authorities stress that such measures are necessary in the fast-growing emirate, where the number of vehicles on the roads is constantly increasing.
The new points on Sheikh Zayed Road are designed to improve traffic flow in the most congested areas, particularly in business and residential areas. The authorities hope that the gates will help reduce congestion and encourage residents to use alternative routes and public transport.
