A man was fatally struck by a departing plane

According to information provided by the airline, an unidentified person jumped over the airport’s outer fence just two minutes before the collision. The man ran onto the runway just as the accelerating plane was preparing for takeoff.

The aircraft collided with the man running across the runway. According to eyewitnesses and passengers, the man was sucked into the engine of the accelerating Airbus, causing it to catch fire.

All passengers on board were evacuated. Airport authorities quickly secured the scene, and the airport temporarily restricted operations in the runway area.
