After more than a decade of suspended flights, flydubai has announced its return to the route from Dubai to Damascus. Daily flights will resume on 1 June 2025.
Damascus was one of the first destinations in flydubai's network shortly after the carrier began operations. However, flights were suspended due to the outbreak of civil war in Syria, which forced many carriers to withdraw from the Syrian market.
On 1 June this year, flydubai will return to the Syrian capital, offering daily flights from Dubai to Damascus. This is a significant step for both the carrier and the Syrian aviation market, which is gradually opening up to the return of foreign airlines.
Flydubai is another carrier that has decided to return to Damascus after a long absence. This decision is part of a broader trend of Syria reopening to international air traffic and the slow normalisation of the situation in the region.
