Etihad Airways has decided to divide its business class into three available tariffs: Value, Comfort and Flex. The Value tariff can be described as ‘Poor business class’.
On 4 March, Etihad Airways introduced a new business class division. The new fare policy divides Etihad business class into 3 tariffs: Value, Comfort and Flex. How do they differ? The Value tariff is the cheapest, but also the most limited business class tariff. Passengers who choose the Value fare do not have free access to airport lounges, they have to pay for their seat on the plane, and they cannot get a refund without paying a portion of the ticket price, which is determined by the fare regulations. The business class in the Comfort and Flex tariffs remains unchanged. The Value option can thus be called ‘poverty business class’. Unfortunately, the prices have not changed with the introduction of the new options. The reduction in services has not led to a drop in prices and the profitability of such a decision from the perspective of passengers.
