Authorities on picturesque Capri have decided to crack down on the persistent problem of soliciting tourists. New regulations, which took effect on April 7, impose severe fines—up to 500 euros—on individuals who persistently solicit visitors to this popular island.
For years, Capri has attracted tourists from around the world with its Mediterranean charm, luxurious atmosphere, and spectacular views. Unfortunately, as the island’s popularity has grown, so has the problem of pushy vendors and individuals aggressively and persistently offering services. In response to numerous complaints from travelers, local authorities have decided to introduce new regulations.
Under the new regulations, individuals who persistently accost tourists—whether for commercial or service-related purposes—may be fined up to 500 euros. This is a clear signal that Capri is committed to a more exclusive and peaceful vacation experience.
